Potpourri of titbits about Tamil cinema - J. Jayalalitha

A knotty situation

He was our family friend from a middle class family. He will always come to me, narrate some problem to collect money. One of my friend who was watching this for several days had told me that he was adopting the same trick with everyone to collect money and warned me that he was trying to exploit me without actually having any problem.

As advised by my friend I was trying to avoid him. Because he happens to be our family friend it was difficult for me to disown him all of a sudden. One day when he came to see me to avoid him I had requested my aunt to tell him about my non availability. But, he chose to wait for me. I was put into an embarrassing situation, when my friend came to meet me. I had requested my aunt to bring my friend secretly through the back door and went out with her. Somehow I had escaped from a knotty situation on that day.

Sneakiness

That time I was a new entrant to the cinema and my mother did not accompany me to the shooting on that day. I was acting with a very famous actress of that time. I entered the set with the hair dressing and full make up. The female actor enquired about my hairdresser and in the pretext of correcting my hairdressing she actually dishevelled it.

The director of the film a good man by nature had enquired me about it. On knowing the name of the actress, he explained me the sneakiness of the actress and how she will envy those who look more beautiful than her.

Thiru Cho is our family friend and I know him from my childhood days. We had acted together in a number of English stage plays. His versatility and intelligence cannot be estimated in a small way. He has the capacity to bring in dramatic changes even in a government.

Once he was wearing beautiful slippers and on my enquiry he told me that he had bought them in Mumbai. In a few days time he presented me similar slippers of my size. In fact he remembered my normal enquiry and made it a point to buy a pair for me during his next visit to Mumbai. I continue to have a brotherly affection towards him even today.
