Siddhas are with us ...! Chapter - 3, kalyanamalaimagazine

There’s a widespread wrong notion about Lord Siva among the people. Though they worship Siva, it is not with the same fervor that they bestow upon the God of Creation and the God of Protection. They worship him half-heartedly with a sense of awe since He is the God of Destruction. There is a contradictory view in this regard. Some really believe that by worshiping Lord Siva, the devotee gets no benefit, because the destroyer would do him no good and that people should worship other Gods for benefit! Sages Agasthya, Boghar and Thirumoolar have pointed out in the jeevanadi that this view is totally wrong.

A gentleman came to me along with his wife for the reading of Boghar naadi. They said that they had a two-year old child and that the child turned blue often due to its congenital problem of a hole in its heart at the time of its birth itself and that they had come for prescription of some medicine by sage Boghar. I prayed to Boghar and looked for remedy in the naadi. “If the child is to be saved, it should be bathed for three times in the River Alaknanda on a Thursday, chanting the thirunaamam of Lord Siva. He’ll protect the child.” – Boghar disappeared instantly after uttering these words. When I told the couple what Boghar said, they were bewildered. ‘Will any child thrive if dipped in the chill waters of the river, that too for three times at the wee hours of the morning?’ was the reason for their bewilderment. They left with sorrow in their heart.
