Rainy season is the time when bacteria and virus spread more vigorously. We get different types of diseases during this season. Especially, our skin is affected with various types of problems including fungus. So, it is very important that we keep our skin very clean and also adjust our diet to suit the season.


Now, let us see how we can maintain a clean skin free from all problems:

Moisturizing the skin is not necessary during rainy season. If at all you require, apply very lightly. Alpha hydroxyl oxide contained in the face-wash renders freshness to the skin. But it should be used only once in a day. Rubbing the skin is not good during this season. Sunscreen cream should be applied without fail. The cream protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays. Non-alkaline cleansers can be used to cleanse the skin. The cleanser penetrates the pores on the skin and removes the dirt from inside. Heavy make-up should be avoided during rainy season. Foundation cream can also be avoided. Talcum powders can be applied. It will make the face look fresh. As our hair will gather more dirt during rainy season, it is better to have shampoo bath on alternate days. This will also arrest hair fall. While buying umbrella or raincoat, choose beautiful shades so that we feel joyful while going out. Avoid white and light color dresses as they will look dirty if muddy water is splashed on them. During rainy season, stomach problems like diarrhea, nausea, indigestion etc. will be common. So, it is better to choose our diet to suit the season. Some might develop difficulty in breathing. Some might get even fever. So, prefer light food. Milk is very good, it stabilizes our health. Easily digestible food should be preferred during the early days of the season. Oil should be included in the food in lesser quantity. Barley, wheat, rice, fruits, beans, fresh curd, bottle gourd, fenugreek, fresh juices, buttermilk can be taken in large proportion. Foods that have sour taste should be avoided. Also, deep-fries, and pulses should be taken in lesser quantity. Before food, lemon juice with sugar can be taken. This will help digestion. During rainy season, vegetarian food is more recommended.
